1 Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
Song of Solomon 2:7
“Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.”
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. We like to think we are in control, but we aren’t. Everything is done on God’s timing. Relationships, jobs, careers, advancement, everything. On the subject of relationships.
Love waits and prepares until it is ready…Real Love moves in silence. No it’s not out of a movie or a fairy tale, it’s legit.
What is love? Well, it’s defined as emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong feeling and attachment. As Humans, we constantly yearn for that somebody and a lot of times people start relationships that they should they either are not ready or for the wrong reasons.
In the most famous of love verses in 1 Corinthians 14, the first verse is “Love is patient.” Most people don’t know what that means because it’s so difficult to wait.
When we want something, we want it right away. Instead, God calls us to wait and not stir love until it so desires. Wait on God’s timing and not our own. Remember, the right thing at the wrong time is still the wrong thing.
In my heart I believe that true love really does WAIT but sometimes emotions and romance get’s the best of us and we can’t wait. It’s very important for people to realize that it’s more than waiting, it’s waiting on when God says you are ready waiting on GOD’s timing and not our own. That is truly the most difficult part because who doesn’t desire true love? The only way we can ever get it, is if we wait on God.
Yes, waiting isn’t easy. One of man’s downfall is immediate gratification and the desire to get whatever it is we want as soon as possible and not be filled until we get it. However, when we do wait, we have an amazing opportunity to grow and fall in love with God. That’s why faith is so important. God knows the desires of our heart and in due time, will reward us if we walk a long the righteous path.
If we wait, it will be that much “better” when we do enter that relationship. In the end, gonna say that you’re the one and that my search is done.

frequent reader, first time comment. stumbled upon this blog thru a mutual friend. i agree with mostly everything in this post. but before i say more, what i gather from this blog is that finding love is the ultimate goal here. love/falling in love/finding love is the be all and end all. another message that i get is that the only reason i want to know God, is so i can know what love is. and more so love is only found in a relationship, a spouse in particular. please correct me if i am wrong.
i also have some questions:
what is true love to you?
why wait to love someone?
what does “better” mean to you?
is love merely emotions and feelings?

Hi Grace. First off thank you for reading my blog. I really appreciate it.
to answer this question “what i gather from this blog is that finding love is the ultimate goal here. love/falling in love/finding love is the be all and end all.” This is not the goal of my blog. The goal is to help people understand Jesus and grow into a relationship with Him. Right now is a lot of relational issues because this is the series we are currently in. If you read all the way back to the first post, you’ll see the diverse topics i have felt led to write about.
About your other questions:
true love is what Jesus did for us by giving his life for us on the cross. He took the sins and burdens of this world and died so that we dont have to suffer for it. Look in 1 John 7 for some awesome scripture.
why wait to love someone? It’s not about not waiting to love someone, but waiting for the right time to be in a relationship with someone. We are called to constantly love another. Don’t rush into a relationship that you know will end up a very temporary one.
what does “better” mean to you?
Songs of Solomon 2:7 says “do not stir love until it so desires” and in our times of singleness, God wants us to get the junk out of lives like insecurity, jealously, anger or whatever those areas are in our life. we need to do that so we dont bring that garbage into the next relationship where we will dump it on the next boy/girl friend. better also refers not rushing into a relationship i know im not ready for or isnt right. If i focus on God, i know that He’ll send the perfect girl for me into my life. Psalm 37:4
is love mere emotions and feelings? Love is decisions and commitment to follow through. It is about sacrifice and loving someone unconditional no matter what. Our feelings and emotions tend to blind us because when we rely on our feelings, it means we arent relying on God.
Thank you for reading. Know God. Know Love.
i was questioning God ‘why my last relationship could not work? It feels good at the start but turns out to be a disaster for my life…’ I kept on questioning Him about that until I read this message.. And now i know, the right thing in the wrong time is still a wrong thing.. so decided not to worry much about when ‘the one’ will come.. and start to let His will be done…
thank you so much for such a blessing message you have here… its lighten my life! ^^
i have two daughters 18 and 20..

i know god is in control but at times it all seems so stressful , things going on that make no sense ..i need to learn to be patient …
